In depth
History: i dont know the history of this motorcycle. it was bought from a motorcycle dealership in clarksville, tennessee. I DID NOT GET THE RED KEY. i did not know enough about the importance of that red key to ask,so when i tried to obtain it they told me that is all that came with it,one key.call the ducati dealer and they told me to make the dealer where i bought it to get the only one that exists i guess this is the only one in the world.this isnt good.make sure you get the RED key if you buy a Ducati.
Modifications: afam sprockets w/quick changehub adapter, gold rk525 chain, paulimoto sprocket cover, pro cutting/barrnett/veetwo hub and basket set up from l.t.snyder/desmotimes. stm frame plugs, puig tinted windscreen, evoluzione gold anodized slave cyl.motowheels presure plate and clutch cover. power commander and foam pod air filter.MBRS used on valves when checked w/EMS modified opener shims. motowheels euro headlight switch.front and rear Olins
Problems: Parts cost............. dealership prices and service..........That RED KEY is a big problem. get that RED key.....
Comments: parts are high, rocker arms are an issue, service at dealerships are outrageous.do your own service work if possible and you know it is right.it takes a while to gather up tools and parts for service but its worth it. i have spent my life riding a harley davidson but this Ducati is the fastest motorcycle i have owned to date. it is plenty fast but i still would like to own a 1098. maybe someday.
Ducatis are unbielievably fast for a 2 cyl engine. it takes a large displcement jap to outrun me !
